MAYWOOD POLICE DEPARTMENT

On the morning of February 21, 2023, members of the Maywood Police Department, Hackensack Police Department and the Bergen County Regional SWAT Team executed a search warrant at a Prospect Avenue apartment in Hackensack which resulted in the arrest of Courry Rice, 40, of Hackensack, for various charges related to drug distribution.

 

The arrest stemmed from a narcotics investigation led by Det. Christopher Nichols and P.O. Matthew Della Bella. Information obtained during the course of the investigation revealed that Mr. Rice had been distributing narcotics from his apartment. A search warrant was subsequently obtained for the apartment and detectives seized distribution amounts of crack cocaine, ecstasy pills, drug packaging materials and scales.

 

Mr. Rice was arrested and transported to Maywood Police Headquarters where he was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Distribute Ecstasy, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Drug Paraphernalia. He was lodged at the Bergen County Jail pending a court hearing.

 

These charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
