EIGHT ARRESTED AFTER EARLY MORNING DRUG RAID

On June 3, 2020, members of the Maywood Police Department, Maywood PD K-9 Unit and the Bergen County Regional SWAT Team executed a search warrant at a Spring Valley Road residence which led to the arrest of eight individuals for various drug and weapons related offenses.

During the past several months, the Maywood Police Department received numerous complaints from concerned citizens regarding narcotics activity occurring near the residence which is located within close proximity to Memorial Park and Memorial School. In response to these complaints, Detectives and Officers of the Maywood Police Department conducted an investigation which led to a search warrant. During the execution of the warrant, evidence was located that was consistent with the manufacturing and distribution of controlled dangerous substances. The following individuals were arrested and charged.

Gerard Bezak, 31, of Maywood, for Maintaining a Drug Manufacturing Facility, Possession of Heroin, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Hypodermic Needles/Syringes, Failure to Surrender a CDS.

Jaquwane Gray, 43, of Maywood, for Maintaining a Drug Manufacturing Facility, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with Intent to Distribute within 1000 feet of a School, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a Prescription Legend Drug, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with Intent to Distribute, Financial Facilitation of Criminal Activity.

Jonathan Faison, 33, of Maywood, for Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana/THC Edibles, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Failure to Surrender a CDS.

Curtis Lugo, 29, of Maywood, for Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Hypodermic Needles/Syringes.

Malarie Maziot, 30, of Maywood, for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with Intent to Distribute.

Demetra Menico, 28, of Maywood, for Possession of Heroin, Possession Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Hypodermic Needles/Syringes.

Erin Berlingeri, 29, of Maywood, for Possession of Cocaine, Possession Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Hypodermic Needles/Syringes.

Bezak, Gray, and Faison were all lodged at the Bergen County Jail pending a court hearing. The remaining defendants were released on their own recognizance. 


These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
