ENGLEWOOD MAN ARRESTED FOR AGGRAVATED SEXUAL ASSAULT

Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrest of FABIO AGUDELO (DOB: 06/13/1947; married; and employed as a bus aide) of 111 West Street, Apt 2P, Englewood, New Jersey on charges of Aggravated Sexual Assault, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Impersonation/Theft of Identity. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Maywood Police Department under the direction of Chief David Pegg.

On Thursday, September 7, 2017, the Maywood Police Department and Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office received information that a 17-year-old victim was sexually assaulted by FABIO AGUDELO in Maywood, New Jersey.

As a result of the investigation, Fabio AGUDELO was arrested on Friday, September 8, 2017 in Maywood, New Jersey and charged with one count each of Aggravated Sexual Assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2a(7), a 1st degree crime; Endangering the Welfare of a Child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a., a 3rd degree crime; and Impersonation/Theft of Identity, N.J.S.A. 2C:21-17a(1), a 3rd degree crime. AGUDELO was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his arraignment. He is scheduled to appear in Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court for a first appearance on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 1:30 p.m.

Prosecutor Grewal states that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would like to thank the Maywood Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
