PRESENTS: SAFE HOMES FOR OLDER ADULTS

 

The American Red Cross, Bergen Crossroads Chapter, in cooperation with Bergen County Department of Human Services, Division of Senior Services is offering the SAFE HOMES FOR OLDER ADULTS PROGRAM for residents of Bergen County.

   The program will include major safety areas of special interest to older adults: home security and home modification.

   You qualify if: You are at least 60 years old.

 

THE PROGRAM TARGET AREAS ARE:

 

   HOME SECURITY - This includes a home security inspection where older adults can receive security improvements such as exterior doors, door and window locks, peep holes, and a motion detector light where needed.

 

   HOME MODIFICATION- Aid for those older adults who need moderate modifications to their homes in order to maintain an independent lifestyle. Grab bars in the bathroom, hand rails, improved lighting and widened doorways are items included in this program.
