New Jersey's Regional Community Policing Institute,In Cooperation with the U.S. Department of Justice, COPS OFFICE, Award.

The Maywood Police Department is the first Department in the State of New Jersey to receive the designation of "Community Policing Agency."  The award was presented to Chief Patrick J. Reynolds for its outstanding accomplishments in the area of Community Policing.  The Department met the eighty percent training requirement of the New Jersey Regional Community Policing Institute, including the Chief.  Our Department has initiated community policing programs as a result of the training received and therefore was eligible for Departmental Recognition by the Institute and the U.S. Department of Justice, COPS Office.  In fact, the Department exceeded the eighty percent requirement with 100% participation!
